By far the German cockroach is the most common "roach infestation" you may get in your home or a commercial kitchen. The German cockroach has 3 stages of life (egg, nymph, adult) or an incomplete metamorphosis. They hatch from an egg and mature into reproductive adults in about 3 months time depending on temperature, food, moisture, harborage. They continuously breed which causes over lapping generations. The mature German cockroach carries an ootheca (egg capsule) contains 18 - 50 babies. So in a very short amount of time you can have a huge population of German cockroaches.
